from Survive to Thrive: Week 7

Welcome to from Survive to Thrive: Week 7!

I'm really enjoying being on staycation. This week I did yoga every day, got ready for the holidays, and spent lots of time decluttering.

Let's review my week...

Play

One thing I'm enjoying this month is my LEGO Friends Advent Calendar. It's fun to assemble a new LEGO each day. It's too bad there are only two days left.

I'm also enjoying my Jacquie Lawson Cotswold Advent Calendar, which is a computer-based advent calendar with exquisite detail and fun activities. It brings me so much joy!

Happiness Project

I've been enrolled in Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project Experience course this year, and I'm going to enroll again for next year. Each month we focus on a different area and implement changes in that area designed to increase our happiness.

I enjoyed it this year, and I think I can build on my experience in 2019 to increase the impact in 2020. If you are interested in joining me, use coupon code REFZPJ4KCVJ86 for $25 off.

Decluttering

Another course that I'll be repeating next year is Joshua Becker's 12-week course, uncluttered. Enrolling in the course gives you lifetime access to it, and it repeats periodically throughout the year. Many of the people in the course have followed it multiple times, decluttering more with each round. If you are interested in uncluttered, use coupon code FF25 for 25% off. Registration opens January 2, but you can get a sneak peek here.

I've spent a lot of time decluttering and organizing this week, and it's very satisfying. I particularly enjoyed donating the heavy metal Christmas tree stand that fell on my shoulder in September. We got an artificial tree this year and don't need the stand any longer.

I did some rearranging in the basement and set up bookcase displays of our LEGO modular town. Seeing them makes me smile. In January they are releasing a Bookshop! I'm very excited for it.

Fitness

My Achilles is still a little sore, much to my frustration. I feel impatient and want it to improve so I can run again. At least I was able to walk on it and do yoga the past few days.

I did yoga every day this week! Monday through Friday I did the chakra series from Yoga with Adriene (calendar). I'm going to do the last two days of the series this upcoming week.

I also signed up for Adriene's free 30-day yoga "journey" that starts in January. This year the theme is "Home." This will be the third year I've done Adriene's 30-day January yoga journey. I highly recommend it! Check it out here.

Looking Ahead

I'm starting week two of my three week staycation. This week, I'm still focusing on recharging and prioritizing me, but I'll also have a chance to see family throughout the week. Hooray!

My goals for the week are:
  1. Track everything I eat in MyFitnessPal
  2. Do my morning routine every day
  3. Run/walk at least twice, do yoga every day
  4. Spend at least 15 minutes decluttering every day

See you next week!
